I am AndrĂ© ‘Kimskell’ Kuipers born in Vlaardingen in the Netherlands. The first few years, of which I don’t remember much, I lived in Maasluis. When I was 5 years old we moved to Schoonhoven, an old small town on the river Lek where I still live. Schoonhoven is called the silvertown because of its vocational training as a silver-, goldsmith, jeweller and clockmaker. It has a beautiful old water tower and one of the old town gates is still standing.
From an early age I have always been creative. From drawing cartoons to crafts and painting, it’s all passed in review. I am not really a specialist because I like too many things to do and to immerse myself into. Some of these creative hobbies and there products you can find on this website.
After high school I took a course in graphic design. I worked at a typesetting shop for a while. From the training and the work my love for graphic design was born. After about ten years, only the screen work started to bore me a bit. During that time, I worked as a volunteer at a youth center in my hometown. The parties we organized there were always lavishly decorated, which I enjoyed doing. I also loved working with many different people. Because I had so much fun as a volunteer in the youth center and the screen work began to bore me, I made the switch to social work. I am now a youth worker for the municipality where I live.
I have always played games with my friends. We started by playing the role-playing game Warhammer. After that, many systems followed from DnD to homebrew. Later, due to lack of time of some of us, we switched to playing board games. Since the Covid outbreak, we have gone back to role-playing because it is easy to do on a virual tabletop in the time of a lock-down. I am the gamemaster of a Pathfinder 1st edition Rise of the Runelords campaign.
